Day of the Dead
Absorb the aromas, colors, and traditions of the Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Muertos) celebrations, to remember the loved ones we have lost, and celebrate their life and the legacy that they have left behind. It is a celebration declared as a Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
Day of the Dead is a two-day holiday that reunites the living and dead. Families create offerings to honor their departed family members who have passed. These altars are decorated with bright yellow marigold flowers, photos of the departed, and the favorite foods and drinks of the one being honored.
If obliged, bring in a picture of lost loved ones and an object that represents them to include them in a unique Ofrenda in the retreat center to celebrate them throughout the week.
