Female Yoga Retreat.“Yin” translated as female and “Yang” is male. Means practice that has aim of balance of female and male parts of the body. In vedic tradition you can see similarities with Hatha Yoga (“Ha” means male or Sun energy and “Tha” means female or moon energy). In simple language we can say tha Yin Yoga is a female style of Yoga (practice that can increase female energy as well).
When Yang Yoga focused on speediness and muscle building, the Yin or female yoga practice offers slow practice and deep stretching. In some literature you can find description of Yin Yoga as “yoga of the joints” . After entering in the posture practitioner should hold it during 1 to 3 minutes. In advanced practice holding can be increased till 5-10 min. In Yin Yoga we can find different kind of practice like Asana, pranayama, meditation, mantra.
