At Baliana, we practice Yoga Vinyasa (dynamic) to which we add a little Yoga Nidra (relaxing) as well as other techniques of Well-Being such as Tai-Chi movements , self-massage, meditation guided at the end of the session in Savasanaor theory on the philosophy of Yoga. We warm up at the beginning of the course the whole body, emphasizing the muscle group, the intention, that the teacher has chosen to work more particularly. Once warmed up, we progress in the intensity of the practice with the sequence of standing postures and balance. Then the last part of the course aims to slow the heart rate down to normal. We then favor stretching in sitting and lying postures. We close the session with the Savasana posture which consists of lying on your back and relaxing all the muscles of the body. With regular practice, we can correct postural errors developed throughout our lives (especially chronic back problems). Yoga helps to reduce stress. During the session, the attention is entirely directed to the body and the breath. We are in the here and now, which is a form of meditation . Yoga is an art of living and a complete physical activity for body and mind.

In Yoga classes, we practice Asanas which are Yoga postures. Asanas soften and strengthen the body. They teach us to focus our attention in the present moment. Once the practice of postures is well integrated, we work on the harmonization and regulation of breathing: Pranayama . Breathing exercises regulate our life force called Prana.

Yoga is a practice and an art of living that adapts to each person and is accompanied by values towards oneself, towards others but also towards nature. This discipline is devoid of any competition and performance, whatever your age, build and health.
There is no “good” or “bad” level. Everyone is where they are. You just have to listen to your body and its limits. You simply adapt your posture to your abilities.
There is no objective to achieve other than serenity and well-being. A successful yoga session is simply a session where you give your best, consciously, gently and with joy. Everyone can therefore benefit from it. Regular yoga sessions allow you to gain flexibility, strength, concentration and self-esteem.
