For many, if not all, first-time visitors, Morocco's main attractions are the imperial cities, ancient medinas, the Sahara and the Atlas Mountains. However, despite the rich history, natural beauty of the desert and mountains, the beauty, charm and allure can also be found along Morocco's shores. Finally, Morocco is blessed with 1,200 miles of coastline spanning the Atlantic and Mediterranean Seas, along with warm weather all year round. Summer temperatures along the coast are between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius, just right for enjoying a yoga holiday. We welcome all levels of experience to join us on this beautiful week long journey through Morocco. During this retreat we will be on the road and touring some of our favorite places in Morocco, from the desert to the sea. This retreat invites you to take a break, slow down with daily yoga and meditation program as well as cultural experiences and explorations! If you are in the mood for something very special, then this trip to Morocco is just right for you. The time out in the enchanting region of Morocco and the endless Sahara is a great opportunity to reflect on your life and be inspired for new things. From Marrakech we drive around the "High" Atlas directly into the Sahara. Yoga sessions, a visit to the nomads and a delicious picnic in the holy oasis await you. This will help center you and recharge you from within. Coaching strengthens you mentally, you determine the topic in a one-to-one discussion. Classic topics are self-confidence, goal setting or work-life balance. Whether on a beautiful roof terrace, in the warm sand on a dune at sunset or under a palm tree in the Sahara.
Monday to Friday
30 Tea and fruit
00 Pranayama - commonly referred to as breath control ("prana" means breath or life energy and "yama" means control). In a different light, it also refers to the expansion of our life energy. In this course, you will learn different breathing techniques to influence the flow of prana through the body's energy channels. You will also learn how to use pranayama techniques that generate heat (like Surya Bhedi) and cold (like Sheetkari) as therapy for various psychosomatic illnesses.
45 Alternating between Shatkarmas and meditation - during the week you will also get an introduction to Shatkarmas and their underlying theory. Shatkarma ("shat" six, "karma" action) is an ancient purification of the body's yoga practices. There are 6 types of Shatkarmas each, which balance our masculine (ida) and feminine (pingla) energies and rid our bodies of stagnant waste that has accumulated over decades of unhealthy living. In our yoga teacher training, you will get an introduction to 3 of these ancient practices. Relax and withdraw into your consciousness. You will learn meditation techniques and their underlying theory. You will receive an introduction to chakra meditations, prana meditations, creative meditations, and other techniques that have been used in practice for thousands of years. You also have the opportunity to lead your own meditations.
45 Vinyasa yoga - it can be understood by breaking down its roots: "vin" to flow and "yasa", on a good path. In this light, proper vinyasa yoga practice requires a "connected breath". The four elements of mental/visual focus (Dristi), energy locks (Bandha), Ujjai pranayama, and asanas must be connected in a flow so that your practice goes beyond typical training. You are practicing Vinyasa Flows and building a class. You have several options for teaching entire vinyasa classes, along with constructive feedback from your teacher and classmates.
15 Breakfast
00 Mantra Chanting and meditation - make time every day for mantras and mantra classes by learning the 10 most important mantras in yoga. Singing the literal translations and their spiritual meanings and how you can apply them in your daily life and in your yoga practice. The word "mantra" means Sanskrit roots "man" spirit and "tra" liberation. Mantras are powerful sounds and words that are chanted repeatedly to awaken powerful energies and enter a state of meditation. Vibrations of sound penetrate every cell of your being and allow your mind to dissolve and rest. Mantras are repetitive sounds that are used to penetrate the depths of the unconscious and adjust the vibration of all aspects of your being. Mantras are vibrated by singing loudly, mentally practicing, or listening. The experience of how sound vibrations affect your being is Naad yoga.
00 Philosophy - discover the origins of yoga by studying the core philosophy and scriptures that have endured through thousands of years of practice. You will get to know the Bhagavad Geeta and the lessons of Karma yoga, Bhakti yoga, and Gyana yoga. You will learn about the Yoga Sutra and how you can overcome the different ways of thinking through the 8 limbs of yoga. You get to know the physical, astral, and causal body.
30 Lunch
00 Anatomy and physiology - delve deep into anatomy and physiology to really understand how yoga affects our bodies. You will examine 5 of the most important physiological systems in the human body: respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, muscles and skeleton. You will also learn how to use yoga asanas, pranayama, shat karmas, and meditation to treat problems that arise in each individual physiological system.
00 Adjustments and use of props - you have an hour and a half each day to practice and master the art of adaptation. Everybody and soul are different and you will learn to learn different variations to meet the needs of the different students you encounter during the class. We will also practice using different props: blocks, blankets, robes, pillows, etc.
30 Yoga is about a balance of energies. Much of modern yoga focuses on more intense physical practice, and it is equally important to induce relaxation and calm.
