Throughout the façade and interiors of Vileen, we have paid tribute to Uttarakhand’s rich heritage of artistry by integrating traditional architectural elements… whether it’s our sloping roofs, wooden railings, stone wall carvings, elaborate guestroom doors or our feature wall in the reception area.
Reception Wall: This ornate backdrop is inspired by classical doors found throughout the villages of Uttarakhand, most prominently in the Kumaon region. It features an intricate wooden carving art called Likhai, the Kumaoni word for 'wood carving'. An intrinsic part of the hill architecture of Kumaon, the art of Likhai is a disappearing craft, and this spectacular wall is our homage to it.
Imbibing Uttarakhand’s spiritual essence, our menu at Samagra reflects the region’s profound influence on holistic well-being. Rooted in the Himalayan foothills, our offerings harmonise ancient wisdom with modern sensibilities. From sacred herbs to revitalising oils, ingredients have been sourced from Uttarakhand’s natural abundance and spiritual heritage. Step into a realm where every experience nurtures the body and soul, guided by the serene wisdom of this sacred land.

The philosophy of Ayurveda has been deeply rooted in the traditions and culture of India for several thousands of years. It revolves around the theory that human beings are all made of different types of energies and the balance between these energies results in our physical, mental and emotional well-being. Ayurveda uses a broad and effective systems-based three-way classification of physiological functions, called doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha doshas. Balanced doshas result in good health while imbalances in dosha functions create a contrary effect. In this context, each food may suppress or boost functions belonging to one or more doshas, thereby influencing important aspects of the overall physiology
At Avaana on the Cliff, we will help you tread the world of Ayurveda and food with ease and simplicity. Immense research has gone into curating the menu of Avaana. All the ingredients rated highly by Ayurveda are used in our everyday menus, from fresh turmeric to ash gourd to beetroot to millets. Several of our dishes are served in Kansa (Bronze) service ware that has tremendous immunity boosting and other health benefits.
Under each dish in the buffet spreads, guests will find its suitability for each dosha mentioned. The doshas are indicated with these distinguishable icons.
Our in-house spa and Ayurveda specialists help our guests understand the benefits of each of the preparations and which ones are best for them.
