E-RYT 500,

Arya Murty’s Bio

Murtijee – as he is fondly called – was born in Brahmin Family in Southern India, and has been practicing yoga for over last 28 yearsbesides being a Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500) with Yoga Alliance.

Arya started his yogic practices at the age of 15, and was initiated into “Mantra Yoga” at the age of 17.  He improved and deepened his yogic practices under the guidance of Sivananda Ashram, and also by senior teachers of a very famous and traditional Bihar School of Yoga who are well known masters of real Hatha Yoga. He also lived in Swami Dayananda Ashram as a residential student of Vedanta for 3 years. Under the guidance of Acharya Sakshatkritananda ji, he studied the Upanishads & Bhagavad-Gita.

He continued to travel across the length & breadth of India seeking knowledge from different masters & pursuing regular practice, including remote village locations on South India. In his experience, he found the practice of adhering to vow of silence for several days at a stretch, a very helpful spiritual practice to master one’s own mind.

After being a seeker for over 23 years he started to share his knowledge in 2008, professionally teaching for the past 8 years what he amassed over the years & continues his journey on this beautiful path of yoga.

Murtyjee is an authentic Yoga practitioner teaching traditional Hatha, Ahstanga and Pranayama – on the physical level – but also meditation, mantra chanting, philosophy and ethics of yoga. He is one of Trimurti Yoga main teachers for 200 hours TTC and gues teacher for 300 hours TTC.
