Calming the mind. This is one of the central ideas of yoga. And I think sometimes we all wish for some of this calm in our fast-paced, overstimulated everyday lives. Taking a break from all the thoughts (Patanjali calls them the "confusion of the mind"), obligations, "to-dos" that we have all day, and actually all our lives, at all times. This week we'll take time to do this together. You'll explore yourself, your body, and your practice anew - removed from everyday life. And you'll enjoy the sun, the beach, and the sea. Not a bad prospect.
Program: This is what a day could look like: 7.30 a.m.: Meditation, pranayama (voluntary, partly independent) approx. 7.45 a.m. - 8 a.m.: Morning practice (75-90 minutes) approx. 10 a.m./10.30 a.m.: Breakfast/brunch, healthy and fresh, mostly vegetarian, vegan on request, but other wishes are also possible from 11.30 a.m.: free time, opportunity for joint excursions or personal activities late afternoon: 2nd session: changing topics such as inversion/handstand workshop, restorative practice, partner therapeutics, pranayama practice and more around 7 p.m.: dinner free time for a joint conclusion, personal activities or silence
Give yourself this time and this special experience. And I'm sure: you didn't expect a lot of what happens here. Perhaps least of all is how much you'll surprise yourself. About Svenja: Svenja is a yoga, movement and arm balance teacher (specializing in an intention-driven practice, handstands and other advanced asanas and arm balances) with more than 4000 hours of teaching experience. She runs her own yoga studio in Cologne, Germany, and teaches international retreats and workshops. Before opening her studio, she worked as an intensive care nurse for seven years, which gave her a deep understanding of the human body and the importance of physical and mental health, even before her time as a yoga teacher. Her practice is a beautiful blend of dynamic movements - deliberate, purposeful and always balancing strength, flexibility and mobility -, intense poses, playful transitions and inversions and calming moments that create a deeper awareness of the body and mind and a deeper connection.
The food will be deliciously fresh, locally sourced ingredients, perfect for detoxing your system and nourishing your yoga body.
The fresh local ingredients come together in a Mediterranean-themed, fusion-style menu with Greek, Mediterranean, Eastern, and Asian flavors, a unique combination of traditional dishes and flavors, along with other recipes and preparations from Europe and around the world.
All meals are vegetarian, and fish options can be arranged for a few nights by request.
