The central part of the island is characterized by several mountain systems with massive peaks and steep valleys. The Cretan mountains are mostly made of limestone, there are almost 3,000 caves, many gorges and canyons. Zeus, the god of all gods, is said to have been born in one of these caves and a piece of divinity still lives here. It was here that Zeus abducted the Phoenician princess Europa, with whom he fathered a son, Minous, the first European. It was on Crete that Ariadne spun her yarn and Daedalus constructed wings so that he and his son Icarus could ascend to the clouds.

All meals are carefully prepared with local, seasonal produce and served in a modern way in a unique setting where the summer shadows that fall through the glass roof play with the fine architectural lines of the old Venetian stonework. Only the highest quality extra virgin olive oil from the hotel's own olive groves is used for all dishes. The hotel restaurant has a fantastic wine cellar with the best Cretan wines. To reserve, a deposit of 50% of the total price is required. The security deposit is non-refundable if you cancel your reservation. The remainder of the payment is due 30 days prior to your arrival.
