The contrasting and entertaining drive towards the desert leads over the earth-colored Antiatlas, which is densely overgrown with argan trees. Known throughout the country, Taliouine is a small mountain village, because of its production of saffron, here you pause and drink saffron tea. The journey then continues over a high plateau to Tazenakht, a small oasis town, a center of production of traditional Berber carpets (very colorful sheep wool carpets dyed with natural colors, Glaui). Here the nomads practice agriculture and harvest pomegranates, almonds, and figs. Along palm forests over mountain ridges, we drive towards Zagora. We are accommodated in an extraordinary, luxurious lodge hotel with a pool in the middle of a palm oasis.
