Parkinson Plus Syndromes or Multiple System Degeneration
Parkinson Plus Syndrome is a progressive neurological disease. It is caused by an overproduction of a protein in the brain. This causes degeneration (atrophy) of nerve cells in several areas of the brain (multiple systems).
Signs and Symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease
- Tremors – Shaky in fingers, hands, arms, feet, legs, jaw or head.
- Rigidity – Stiffness of Limbs and trunk, muscle aches and pain, loss of fine hand movements.
- Bradykinesia – Slowness to initiate movement and complete movement.
- Postural Instability – Impaired or lost reflexes
- Parkinsonian Gait – Walking in a stooped position or absence of arm swing.
