Yoga & diving - it is quite a unique but a wonderful combination! The two have more in common than one would think: the key element of both yoga and diving is breath. To breathe is to live - it is the essence of life. During this 8-days retreat to the Maldives, participants will get back to their essence, finding deep relaxation and recharging to the fullest.
There is another reason why yoga and diving are the ultimate combination: yoga helps to find inner stillness and that is just what is needed to get real close to the amazing marine life of the Maalhos Lagoon. The marine life features magnificent coral gardens, reef animals and more enchanting sea creatures such as sea turtles, manta rays and whale sharks.
The pristine white sandy beaches of Maalhos, fringed by palm trees and bordered by a clear blue sea, make the perfect backdrop to relax, practice yoga and explore the world beneath the surface. Underwater adventures are combined with yoga on the beach and snoozing in hammocks. The retreat is only suitable for certified divers but there are opportunities to learn how to dive before the retreat starts.
The retreat lasts 8 days and it includes daily yoga classes and 5 diving trips. On top of that, there are some fun day trips planned such as a trip to the sandbank, a dolphin cruise and snorkeling.
Mornings start with Vinyasa Yoga on the beach, a flowy, almost ‘dancing’ type of yoga as described by yoga teacher Sunkissed Yogini. Another type of yoga she teaches at Island Spa Retreats is Yin Yoga which focuses on releasing blockages with long restorative poses.
This diving and yoga retreat in the Maldives is a unique island experience and adventure. Retreat participants get the chance to reconnect with themselves and with nature, getting back their bodies back in their natural rhythm and getting their minds back to a state of peacefulness.
We are a Dive Centre established in the year 1999 by some very passionate divers whom all had one thing in mind, which was to share their underwater experiences with as many people possible. We have been offering Scuba Schools International (SSI) courses to the highest standards possible, and the programs include from one day experience programs (Try Scuba Diving) to beginner courses and First aid courses to professional diving certifications. We are proud to say we have trained a lot of divers and diving professionals. Our dive centre has also initiated a lot of clean-up programs and environmental campaigns.
After operating the dive centre on Malé for more than a decade, we moved to Maalhos to get away from the busy island city life and to be closer to nature. The dive centre is located in a house that is more than 70 years old. Rather than demolishing the place and making a new building we renovated the house keeping the key features intact.
Our staff is made up of very energetic, eager and environmentally aware diving professionals who make sure our motto “dive with someone you know, learn with someone you trust” becomes a reality, keeping in mind that our divers get the best experience they can.
Our facility consists of a dive room equipped with all the necessary equipment serviced to a high standard to make your diving safe, relaxing and fun. Also, there is a sitting area and a classroom equipped with a library of necessary materials to help students and divers with their learning.

The yoga retreat is inclusive of 3 meals a day, prepared with love by chef Saidy, using locally grown and preferably organic produce. Other special dietary requirements can be catered for upon request.
