Surya Lanka is ideal for Ayurvedic spa guests who wish to experience yoga. Yoga has recently found more and more followers in the western world. In South Asia, however, yoga has been recognized as an effective complement to Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years. More and more yoga teachers from all over the world practice yoga here with their students to enjoy the combination of yoga and Ayurveda.
Yoga is an essential element of the Ayurvedic way of life to achieve harmony and balance for body, mind and soul. The combination of body and concentration exercises, breath control (Pranayama) and meditation stimulates life energy and helps the mind to become more mindful and balanced. In Surya Lanka we practice traditional Hatha Yoga together with Pranayama.
The Surya Lanka Ayurveda resort, Sri Lanka offers all the necessary facilities to ensure that its guests have a comfortable and relaxing stay as an Ayurveda resort. The 18-meter freshwater pool in the middle of the tropical garden with its tall palm trees and flowering plants is a wonderful alternative for guests who do not necessarily want to swim in the Indian Ocean. The swimming pool terrace also allows guests to experience yoga and meditation in nature in the early morning and evening hours.
The Ayurveda Resort has two Ayurveda departments, one for doctor consultations and a separate department for Ayurvedic treatments such as Abhyanga (Ayurvedic full body oil massage), Shirodhara (forehead oil pouring), herbal baths and other treatment methods.
