Experience Overview
This very special yoga retreat on clarity in the first week of the new year is offering you tools to find out what you really want and how to work towards it in various holistic ways. Self-coaching and journaling, yoga practices that focus on focusing, learning from the ancient knowledge of yoga philosophy, and mind-clearing nature walks will help you to start the year differently.
We stay in each postures for 3-5 minutes, surrendering to gravity only, finding stillness and a gradual opening and softening of the all connecting fascia. As our body surrenders, also our mind comes to stillness.
YIN yoga is a perfect meditation practice as we as we try to focus on our deep and conscious breath throughout the whole practice. We are so used to being active all the time, that a YIN class can be very challenging for our mind. We are just not used to NOT move or do anything else for 5 long minutes. But after some practice you will LOVE IT!

Suryalila organic olive oil - Liquid gold
They harvest olives in late October. They usually enlist a few locals to help with this, as it is quite skilled labor. The trees must be pruned every year, which is hard work with so many trees and involves skillful use of a chainsaw. Harvesting the olives involves shaking the trees onto a tarpaulin and also hand-picking, the way it has been done for thousands of years.
After shaking the olives off the trees, they need to clean them and then either soak them in brine or take them to Zahara de la Sierra where they get them milled. In harvesting season, when you go to the olive mill, you need to wait in line. You are given a number, like in a busy office, and have to wait for your number to be called. They will call you half an hour before your turn and in the harvest season, the mill works 24 hours, so you might be called up in the middle of the night.
After your olives are milled with big grindstones, you are given a number of huge containers of olive oil. These containers contain ample olive oil to last the kitchen the whole year and also allow them to sell some to guests in the shop, with their own label designed by Rebecca, the artist and founder of Yoga Will Save the World.
Suryalila olive oil is nutty and sweet and bitter at the same time and has a deep gold color with a greenish hue. They are experimenting with different kinds of marinade to flavor the olives for eating. It’s possible to add chili and garlic and peppers and different herbs and they are still looking for that perfect recipe.
