Yoga holidays at the Andean Spirit Lodge nestled in the warm Limatambo valley near Cusco in the Peruvian Andes. A perfect place to recharge your batteries with a combination of Yoga, meditation, sightseeing, nature hikes and home cooked vegetarian/vegan food with fresh ingredients from our organic vegetable garden. A real treat!
You will go on a journey of about an hour that will take us to the village of Mollepata. From there, you will drive to the foot of The Choquechurco mountain, where there are some hidden Inka remains. You will then walk on a steep trail leading to the top of the mountain (about 1 hour and 30 minutes), where you will enjoy a picnic and an optional meditation. You will return to the guesthouse in the afternoon, where you may have another yoga class before dinner.
Today, you will explore the vicinity of the guesthouse and learn about the local crops, flora and fauna, and the way of life of the neighbors. Go for a leisurely walk to enjoy some panoramic views of the beautiful Limatambo valley or opt for a more vigorous hike to the highlands. Optional yoga class in the afternoon. After dinner, you may join a meditation or relax.
After breakfast, you may take a short walk in the area, which will give you fine views of the Limatambo Valley and the snowy peak of Mount Humantay. Later, you may relax at the Lodge or in the garden. In the afternoon, you may have a yoga class and after dinner, you may meditate in the open air by a bonfire.
Andean Spirit Lodge practice and teach Hatha Yoga in the Sivananda style. The yoga classes last for 90 minutes each and consist of a combination of postures, breathwork, and relaxation. Previous knowledge of yoga is not necessary. In the mornings and the evenings, you have the option to participate in meditation with devotional chants, mantras, and readings of the teachings of Swami Sivananda or other masters. Andean Spirit Lodge has a collection of books and videos about yoga and spiritual development which we are happy to share with you. They are also always open to conversations about these topics.
This holiday starts and ends in Cusco. We pick you up from the airport or your hotel and show you some little-known fascinating Inka sites on the way to the guesthouse. Accommodation is in spacious bungalows with garden and mountain views and private facilities. You will be instructed by certified yoga teachers. There are satsangs once a day with meditation and kirtan.
