Experience Overview

This is a certified 200 hours Hatha and Vinyasa yoga teacher training course conducted at a beautiful resort located in the heart of a serene seaside town in Goa. Ana Lucia Farina a Costa Rica native and a 500 hrs certified yoga teacher and Ben Mackinnon who has been a yoga teacher for over 20 years are the headteachers that conduct the 200 hours ytt course. The curriculum includes a cohesive foundation of yoga asanas based on needs, flexibility and body adaptations, art of teaching and adjustments in order to meet the needs of future students and in-depth focus on proper asana alignment and biomechanics.

The day starts early as classes start at 6 am every day and the day ends at around 9 pm, overall this course requires the full dedicated attention of the participants and they can't be occupied with anything else due to the intensive nature of the course.

Students are also taught Career development including yoga & wellness business marketing and ethics involved in running a yoga business.

The Curriculum

  • Asana foundations: a comprehensive and cohesive foundation of yoga asanas based on needs, flexibility and body adaptations
  • Hatha Yoga & Vinyasa
  • In-depth focus on proper asana alignment and biomechanics
  • Art of teaching and adjustments in order to meet the needs of your students
  • Yogic Philosophy which includes:  Yoga history, 8 Limbs of Yoga, Pranayama, Breath, Meditation, sacred Indian texts and basic Sanskrit
  • Basic anatomy and understanding of your own body and application to asana theory and practice
  • Meditation theory and practice
  • Art of Sequencing, learning how to prepare and design your classes for diverse audiences
  • Pranayama and breath theory and practice
  • Career development including business and marketing and ethics
  • Special Iyengar workshops, Bhakti Yoga, Yoga Nidra and much more

You Gain

The training is based on traditional Hatha yoga science and will support you and prepare you to become a professional yoga teacher. After the training, you will receive either a Teaching certificate (200hr Yoga Alliance certified) or an Attendance certificate, depending on your overall performance and attitude throughout the four weeks’ training.

Cancellation Policy

Booking

  • Deposit requirement is 30% of your total holiday cost and should be paid at the time of booking. The remaining balance then please must be paid in full, two months before your arrival date to Devarya Wellness. Full payment is required should your booking be made within two months of arrival. We would like to remind you that all deposits are non-refundable or non-transferable.
  • Whilst it is unlikely that we shall have to make changes to holiday bookings or other matters, we reserve the right to do so at any time. We shall inform you as early as we are able to in the event that this is necessary.

Refund Policy

  • Cancellations made 0 – 30 days before the start date of your holiday will be entitled to a 0% refund.
  • Cancellations made 31 – 60 days before the start date of your holiday will be entitled to a 50% refund.
  • In the unlikely event that Devarya Wellness is unable to fulfill a yoga holiday booking we will refund 100% of your payment or offer you an alternative arrangement. However Devarya Wellness will not be accountable for flight costs or other costs incurred outside of the yoga holiday package.
