Luna Alignment Yoga's 200-hrs Alignment & Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training in Koh Phangan Thailand is a Yoga Alliance Certified course. Students will experience and live a traditional yogic lifestyle on this one month immersive TTC.
The yoga hall is set in the middle of the lush, green and serene jungle surroundings of Luna Alignment's Pranayama Gardens, a calm place to practice yoga asanas and meditation, or study. Close by is the beautiful beach where the spectacular sunsets are enjoyed after a day of learning.
The structure of the Alignment & Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training in Koh Phangan Thailand is thorough. Lead by five yoga teachers with over 40 years of yoga wisdom, styles and teaching behind them, the knowledge shared on this TTC will be both broad and in-depth.
The styles of yoga taught at the Luna Alignment Yoga Teacher Training Centre are Vinyasa Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Alignment Yoga and Therapeutic Yoga, enabling students to teach various styles of flow, relaxing and calming yoga.
The course covers pranayama and breathing techniques, the art of teaching, philosophy of yoga, anatomy, and physiology. Other essential yogic topics covered are meditation, an introduction to Ayurveda, chanting, mantras and the energetic body of chakras too.
The uniqueness of this course is its holistic and therapeutic approach which is vital for students to go on to teach yoga in a healthy way.
A daily breakfast of tea and fresh fruit is provided along with a locally sourced Asian style vegan lunch by the local Art Café. The vegan Art Cafe nearby is also available for dinner at a discount or the locality can be explored. Saturdays are a day off to explore the island or study some more.
There are no prerequisites, only a passion for yoga. Beginners, intermediate and advanced practitioners are welcome.

The program is designed in the most approachable way, teaching every topic in both theoretical and practical manners. Every subject you'll learn will start with the theoretical class, followed by the related practice. Since this course is designed for aspirant teachers, Luna Alignment Yoga trains you to actually teach and therefore you will start to practice teaching already from the second week.
The course addresses people of all levels and enables everyone to move at their own pace within the given frame of the program. Our aim is to reach yoga practitioners from all levels and Yoga disciplines - whether you are in the beginning of your journey into the world of yoga, an experienced practitioner or teaching yoga already.
The program is a unique blend of modern-day science and classic yoga, Inspired by Iyengar yoga, physiotherapy and various kinds of yoga therapy. Luna Alignment Yoga believes that the yoga practice should always be adjusted to fit the student’s needs, even when teaching a large group. Therefore, the aim is to teach you - whether you are an aspiring yoga teacher or a yoga teacher already - the important core principles behind body structure, alignment and therapeutic yoga, so that you can integrate this knowledge later on in your self-practice and teaching.
You will be able to reinvent your yoga practice and discover teaching with a new extensive toolbox of yoga methods, approaches and techniques. You will acquire the ability to evaluate individual needs and adapt the yoga practice accordingly, enabling you to create intelligent, health promoting, injury free, and adapted yoga environment.
The base of our approach and teaching is Asana alignment (by Iyengar yoga) and we see it as the core foundation of all kinds of yoga practices (Hatha, Vinyasa, Alignment based, Therapeutic, Ashtanga Vinyasa. etc.). Luna Alignment Yoga encourages the students to find their own voice as yoga teachers, relying on this solid ground of alignment.
Luna Alignment Yoga offers a unique yoga TTC on the island of Koh Phangan Thailand. With picturesque turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and palm trees, yoga near the beach is a dream. Koh Phangan island is in the middle of The Gulf of Thailand. It’s renowned for its natural beauty and it’s culture too; from beaches and jungle to the traditional Thai temples and established local yoga community.
Situated in the yoga-centric village of Srithanu, Luna Alignment Yoga centre is surrounded by lush jungle, gardens and like-minded locals. The Luna Alignment ethos strives for balance and harmony. Tal Swissa, the founder, along with her team have over 40 years of combined teaching experience and wisdom to share. Tal’s vast experience lead her to take a more therapeutic and balanced approach to yoga, and to her teacher training. With a focus on Yoga Anatomy and Alignment Yoga, this 200 hour Alignment & Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training in Koh Phangan, Thailand will give aspiring yoga teachers a solid foundation. The centre provides a large yoga hall for practice and study. Delicious Asian style vegan breakfast and lunch is provided daily by the local Art Cafe to nourish yogis and yoginis (dinner is available with a discount for yoga TTC students). The course is open to those in the beginning of their yoga journey as well as experienced yogis.
Luna Alignment Yoga’s TTC is an immersive yoga experience on a secluded island, practice yoga near the beach, eat Asian style vegan food and learn about the philosophy of yoga.
All of our food is vegan (mostly Asian style) and provided by the well-known Art Café restaurant in Koh-Phangan, who is happily serving the island community since its opening back in 2009. Food is prepared with love and attention, made out of fresh and local ingredients, aiming to provide a notorious, rich and healthy eating experience. As a bonus, all Luna Alignment Yoga TTC students are entitled to a 15% discount when dining in the Art Café restaurant.

The nearest airport to Koh-Phangan is in Koh-Samui with frequent/daily flights from within Thailand and outside of it as well. In Koh-Samui’s airport there is a travel counter located just before going out of the airport. There you can buy a joined ticket for a taxi to the pier and a ferry ticket to Koh-Phangan, to Thong-Sala pier. The ferries are run by Seatran Discovery and Lomprayah and depart several times daily until the afternoon, last one at around 16:00 PM. The ferry ride is about 30-45 minutes.
The next nearest airport to Koh-Phangan is on the mainland in Surat-Thani. From there, you would need a joined bus and ferry ticket to arrive to Thong-Sala pier.
By bus
The cheapest way to travel is to take one of the overnight buses from Bangkok. The bus leaves from Khao-San Road and arrives at Surat-Thani. Then you continue to the local pier from which you can take a ferry to Thong-Sala pier in Koh-Phangan. The entire journey is provided in one joined ticket and arranged by travel agencies in Khao-San Road Bangkok.
By train
Taking an overnight train with a proper bed from Bangkok is yet another way to travel. Trains arrive at Surat-Thani. Then you continue to the local pier from which you can take a ferry to Thong-Sala pier in Koh-Phangan. The entire journey is provided in one joined ticket and arranged by travel agencies in Khao-San Road Bangkok. Train tickets from Surat-Thani back to Bangkok should be usually reserved in advance, particularly during high season, and this can be done by the same travel agency.
