Experience Overview
This is an 18-day life changing retreat at La Casa Shambala community’s very first home, on the beautiful island of Koh Phangan. More than a yoga center, it is a little community built and modelled with love on the concept of permaculture, nestled in the jungle and surrounded by the magic of a tropical island. It is an idyllic setting for a journey of yoga, self-discovery, growth, meditation, and health while learning more about self-sustainable living.
Ayurveda is a system of traditional medicine native to India. It is a complete holistic understanding of the nature of the body and its connection to nature. Aside from studying Ayurveda as part of your course, you will be introduced to foods typically used in Ayurveda to nourish and fuel you in the context of your practice.
Although the Ayurvedic diet has specific guidelines for each dosha, the diet as a whole encourages eating whole foods like fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes. This can benefit your health greatly, as these foods are rich in many essential nutrients.
If you have any food allergies, intolerance or special diet, let La Casa Shambala know and they will make adjustments for you.
