This 8-day yoga, adventure, and Thai Massage retreat is the adventure you've been dreaming of. This yoga retreat has daily excursions to the best local spots in and around Chiang Mai, Thailand. There's something for everyone as we explore Buddhist temples, shopping, waterfall excursion, sunrise excursion, adventure to an elephant sanctuary, and 1 half-day Thai Massage workshops so you can learn to give and receive Thai Massage. DAY 1
Kerry will come to the airport to greet you and ride with you on the transport from the airport to Away Hotel.
Pickup is included in your retreat.
Welcome dinner will be at 7 pm for the group made special by the staff at Away Hotel (please note this dinner is vegan).
The rest of the evening is for you to rest and recuperate from your travels.
Enjoy a Thai Massage, get a refreshing coconut, and enjoy some time by the pool.

DAY 2
Our yoga class will take place downstairs from 7:30 am - 8:30 am.
We will leave at 9:30 am after breakfast and head to Mae Rim Elephant Home; the best elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai.
Walk through the natural habitat of the elephants after caring for, feeding, and feeding them some more. We clean the elephants and learn how to take care of them, and then we walk through the forest until we come to the river and take a mud bath with the elephants. We then head off to the river to rinse off. This is a no-bullpen, no-riding sanctuary. The elephants are not drugged and they are super happy.
Lunch is provided by the Elephant Sanctuary (vegan and non-vegan options are available).
We will return to Away Hotel around 2 pm.
The official opening ceremony will take place after we return from the elephant sanctuary.
The rest of the day can be used to relax and enjoy the hotel amenities or adventure and explore Chiang Mai.
Day 3
Start your morning with an invigorating yoga class followed by a delicious vegan breakfast.
The rest of the morning and early afternoon are free to explore and enjoy the hotel amenities.
At 3 pm we will depart as a group for Wat Palad and Doi Suthep temples.
Hundreds of years before Doi Suthep was built, there was Wat Palad. Halfway up the mountain, this temple looks like it was built right into the jungle.
The grounds are super beautiful with a stream going right through, with many Buddhas resting here. This is a great place to meditate, energize and take it all in.
Doi Suthep is the most famous temple in Chiang Mai and is about 45 minutes into the mountain. We will journey into the temple and explore.
We will depart in the evening to enjoy the temple lit up to capture some spectacular photos.
Departing in the evening will also give us a chance to hear the Buddhist monks chanting.
We will head back to Away Hotel by 7 pm so you can adventure out for dinner.
Day 4
Start your day with a delicious vegan breakfast provided by Away Hotel. After we will adventure as a group 30 minutes outside of the city of Chiang Mai into the village of San-Pong, to a beautiful Thai-style house for our morning yoga practice.
San-Pong Village will be the background for our Thai Massage workshop.
After our yoga practice, our half-day Vedic Thai Yoga Massage workshop will begin. Your instructors are your retreat host, Kerry Tice, and Kerry's Thai Massage teacher, Suriyan.
The local villagers will prepare us tea and lunch, after which we will head back to Away Hotel.
You will have the rest of the day to indulge, relax, and explore Chiang Mai.

Day 5
We will start our morning with some yoga at Away Hotel followed by a vegan breakfast.
We will take the rest of the day to reflect and take time for ourselves and to enjoy the hotel amenities.
Day 6
We start our day with morning yoga at Away Hotel followed by a warm vegan breakfast.
We will depart after breakfast in a private van and head to Doi Inthanon National Park for the day's excursion.
It takes approximately one hour and 45 minutes from Chiang Mai to the park.
Doi Inthanon is home to the highest point in Thailand. There are two beautiful temples dedicated to the king and queen that have different types of architecture and artwork. As we head up the mountain we come across a picturesque garden full of flowers and fountains with the heavily forested Phetchabun Mountain range in the background.
As we descend the mountain we stop and visit a local farmers market as well as the impressively breathtaking Wachirathan Waterfall.
We will have plenty of time to explore and take some awesome photos. We will be gone most of the morning and arrive back at Away Hotel in the late afternoon.
The rest of the day and evening are yours for the taking.
Day 7
We will start our morning with some yoga at Away Hotel followed by a vegan breakfast.
We will take the rest of the day to reflect, pack, and organize for the journey hom
e. We will have our closing circle ceremony in the late afternoon and have a farewell dinner together as a tribe.
Our retreat leader creates experiences during the retreat based on his own travels and experience going to these special places.

Our vinyasa practice in the morning includes a robust yoga practice where students focus on physical alignment through the teaching of alignment-based vinyasa.
By learning new and enforcing already-built techniques, students can gain insights into their physical practice.
Students can expect a dharma theme for each day, and meditation to be included with each practice.
