Ballet Beats and First Thunder Wellness have partnered to create one day retreats filled with dance, yoga, art, land-based healing and mindfulness. Be nourished with plant-based food and optional activities including rafting, hiking, ceremony, fires, medicine gathering and outlets for creativity. Be strengthened and inspired with this perfect blend of community, solitude and time spent in nature. No dance or Yoga experience required. All are welcome.
You may consider exploring Southern Alberta before or after the retreat. Explore Waterton Lakes National Park, the Crowsnest Pass, The Buffalo Jump or continue to Montana which is just a short drive away! Camping is available at our land! Ballet Beats® is a community focused on health, energy and joy. We are a body-positive, come as you are, inclusive community. We focus on the movement, finding a mind-body connection, learning, moving to the music. Freedom through self-expression. We strive to deepen body awareness and encourage getting to truly know your body.
The program and classes are challenging and provide amazing results but that is just the by-product, not the focus. We love to dance, we find meditation through movement and through the memorization of sequences. We rebel against the "ideal body" and strive to encourage and support each student to be their best self and their strongest self. We have fun, we smile, we laugh and we work really, really hard.
The goal of the Ballet Beats® method is to take the focus off of what our bodies look like and place it on how we feel and connecting our highest self, both physically and mentally. You will not hear the words calories or inches mentioned. You will be taught how to use your body safely and gracefully with an innerfelt sense. You will be reminded to stand tall, find your best posture, activate your muscles in a safe way, push yourself to your maximum and to LOVE yourself right now in this moment. That self-love and confidence in knowing your body will bring you to a new level of fitness and strength.
What is Ballet Beats®?
Ballet Beats® is a proprietary syllabus and program which combines both Ballet and Fitness into a multi-level, inclusive fitness experience. You can experience Ballet Beats® at our studio, via our Live Virtual Classes, through Ballet Beats® Digital Studio and our Ballet Beats® Retreats. We also run teacher trainings with the opportunity to license the program and teach your own classes.
You will be served six breakfasts, five lunches, two dinners (on arrival day and final night), smoothies, snacks, and energy balls included in the price. Reserved group dinners at La Luna and Coyol and two free nights to explore local Nosara restaurants are not included, allowing you to experience the town or make family dinners together at Nexus, while lunch will be substantial.
