This retreat offers you a weekend of relaxing yoga and an introduction to the fundamentals of the Wim Hof method of breathing and cold water exposure by certified instructors Huw and Teagan. The conscious breathing technique, combined with cold exposure has been shown to provide health benefits such as increased energy levels, reduced stress levels, and an improved immune system.

6:00 PM Relaxing Yin yoga session

Days 2 and 3: Saturday and Sunday
09:00 Morning Vinyasa/Hatha yoga practice
10:30 Breakfast followed by free time
12:00 Introduction to Wim Hof method breathing technique and theory. On Sunday, there will also be an optional cold water exposure experience to complete the training
13:30 - 14:00 Light lunch followed by free time to explore, swim, or walk

Lot Sous Toile is delighted to be hosting 2024 a very special yoga and Wim Hof method retreat. These will offer wonderful opportunities to take a spiritual break from your busy life in this very beautiful and tranquil setting, in the Lot, South West France.
Whatever your level of yoga, Huw and Teagan will not only support you in the development of your own personal sadhana (personal yoga practice) and breathwork but also in your spiritual journey toward finding peace and stillness within.
During the retreat, you will be guided through a thoughtfully planned, yet flexible program of yoga, meditation, and pranayama (breathwork) workshops, there will also be opportunities to discuss methods of calming a turbulent mind during these turbulent times. This retreat provides an introduction to the fundamentals of the Wim Hof Method of breathing and cold water exposure and all the wonderful health benefits that it can bring. This year SAS Lot Sous Toile also incorporates a sound therapy session on a Sunday afternoon with the wonderful Katily Prera from 'Les Ondes de Tily'. Katily also offers a variety of wellness massages that can be booked in advance.
The method is based on three powerful pillars
The first pillar of the Wim Hof Method® is breathing. We're always breathing, yet we're mostly unaware of its tremendous potential. Heightened oxygen levels hold a treasure trove of benefits, and the specialized breathing technique of the Wim Hof Method® unearths them all: more energy, reduced stress levels, and an augmented immune response that swiftly deals with pathogens.
The cold is your warm friend and one of the three pillars of the Wim Hof Method®. Proper exposure to the cold starts a cascade of health benefits, including the buildup of brown adipose tissue and resultant fat loss, reduced inflammation that facilitates a fortified immune system, balanced hormone levels, improved sleep quality, and the production of endorphins—the feel- good chemicals in the brain that naturally elevate your mood.
The third pillar of the Wim Hof Method® is the foundation of the other two: both cold exposure and conscious breathing require patience and dedication in order to be fully mastered. Armed with focus and determination you are ready to explore and eventually master your own body and mind.
You will also have time to just be and enjoy the heated pool, the forest, a peaceful walk, the company of like-minded people, a love of yoga, and a holistic approach to life. You will be offered healthy, locally sourced vegetarian food to be enjoyed in your tent and/or during communal meals.
By the end of the stay, you will have developed a more in-depth knowledge of your own sadhana, learned new tools to help sustain your body, mind, and soul in the "real" world, and will have shared a deep, enriching experience with others. This will hopefully be a really helpful step in your journey toward finding some lasting inner joy and balance in your life.
