The training is a four-week immersion into the depths and beauty of yoga, bringing together the traditions of Jnana, Bhakti, Tantra, Raja, and Hatha yoga in a creative way. As well as learning Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga and deep feminine Vinyasas, you learn to open your hearts through devotional kirtan, sacred dance, self-inquiry, and traditional tantra. The training offers guidance around trauma-informed yoga and discussions around ethics. Choosing to do your 200-hour training is offering yourself an exquisite container in which to learn, be held, and dive deep into the world of the yogini.
This training is held by female teachers who have been on the path of yoga, spirituality, and wellness for many years. It is not a yoga boot camp with a huge group, dogma, strict rules, and rigidity. Everyone is given individual attention and allowed to go at their own pace. A mature and compassionate attitude is upheld as well as a level of professionalism mixed with lightness and a good sense of humor. Lorraine Taylor will support you in becoming an empowered and confident yoga teacher, who is able to share this wonderful gift with the world.
Based at the wonderful One Yoga Retreat Center, the immersion will allow you to reach into the depths and beauty of yoga. The course is designed to empower you to go and teach the sacred! It brings together all of the essential groundwork that is necessary to become a successful teacher and a powerful yogini in today’s world. Over the course of four weeks, you will explore Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga in many different ways. You will be working deeply with the Tantric Goddesses and the ancient texts of Tantra. You will understand how to create a Vinyasa-style yoga class using the Ashtanga sequence as a base. You will also learn to open your heart through devotional singing and lead a chant.
Embodied movement, yoga Nidra, rituals, and traditional tantra will be interwoven into the training, plus discussions around ethics. These practices are opening - opening for your voice, opening for your levels of confidence, and opening a feeling of empowerment in your teaching so you can take this forward into the world to support others. Movement and voice work will bring you deeper into your body.
Discussions on ethics, consent, and patriarchy within yoga culture, will take your understanding to a new level.
