This training is based on tradition and classical yoga at its core as it draws from ancient yogic texts such as the Yoga Sutras, Vedanta, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Tantric Yoga, and others. At the same time, modern teachings are incorporated into the methodology such as the biomechanics of the body, therapeutic alignment, intelligent sequencing, etc. This ancient and modern science is embodied in daily practice, on and off the mat. The curriculum includes asana, pranayama, and meditation. The morning lesson is dedicated to your practice. The afternoon practice consists of your practice and learning how to teach.

All meals are not included in the price due to the very different dietary preferences Shri Gaia Institute had to cater to in the past, making the overall cost of food very expensive. There are two fully equipped kitchens available for students to use (one kitchen per three rooms) where you can store food and make your brunch.
There are large grocery stores and supermarkets in the village. Early dinner can be eaten out at the beach at many taverns that serve fresh local food, or cooked in the kitchen. Vegetarian and vegan food is available at every tavern, and there is also a vegetarian restaurant in the village.
