The 4-night wellness and mindfulness retreats are designed to help foster a connection with yourself, others, and nature. Located in Morzine in the French Alps, you can expect stunning scenery, delicious, locally sourced, gourmet food, and movement that grounds and challenges in equal measure, from yoga and meditation to exhilarating mountain hikes and wild swimming.
Originally built in 1808, Ferme a Jules is our flagship Alikats chalet and remains a firm favorite amongst all who visit. Currently ranked as the number 1 chalet on Trip Advisor for the whole of the French Alps, Ferme a Jules is perfect for anyone wanting to spend their holiday among friends, old and new.
Although large, with 10 bedrooms and a total capacity of 26 people, at no point does it feel vast. The traditional yet luxurious alpine décor, roaring fire, and considered layout create an inviting space to relax, take a break, and spend time with friends and family.
A new type of retreat. Here’s where the experiences differ from your run-of-the-mill wellness retreat, you’ll be guided through the entire process by a professional life and leadership coach. This facilitator will work with you to ensure you return to your daily life with a clear path forward and a framework to achieve it. This isn’t just a holiday. It’s a carefully crafted and guided experience to help you align with both your inner purpose and the outer world, enabling you to move forward with intention.
Before you arrive
Start the experience with self-reflection exercises and a 2-hour pre-retreat coaching session with Caitlin where you’ll delve into the values and experiences that make you feel fully alive. You’ll set clear, personal intentions and prepare to bring your full self to the retreat.
An inspired and supported way forwards
All too often, the holiday glow fades moments after you return to life as usual. The "Back to Nature" retreats don’t end when you pack your bags and leave the chalet. With integration homework, useful tools to deepen your outdoor reflection practice, an in-depth post-retreat coaching session, and discounted ongoing offers, they continue to support you as you take your path forward.
Spring Awakening
If a shift in work or life is urging you to sow fresh seeds, let nature remind you of the promise and potential of a new growing season. Spring in the Alps is a powerful force. All of a sudden, what was once barren and covered with snow brings forward the most vibrant of life forces.
Rushing rivers and glorious waterfalls, new shoots poking out of warming soil, about a million shades of green delighting the eyes and filling your hearts, baby animals finding their feet, and the sound of cowbells echoing through the valleys as herds head into the mountains for their grazing season. It is truly the best time to awaken the senses!
Summer Flourishing
For those ready to walk into nature’s alpine garden and bloom large among the wildflowers. Temperatures rise, the days stretch out and all living things open up to be energised by the sun. If you’re ready to take your bold and beautiful place in the vast, interconnected network of living things, let this summer experience call you into the wilderness.
Summer in the Alps is when the mountains gift you greater access, inviting you deeper to marvel and participate in their glory. At this time of year, you will climb higher, dare to try new things, cool off in lakes and rivers, and bask in the present moment.
Autumn Harvest
This retreat is for those in a momentous transition. At this time of year, nature reflects a bit of everything, abundant resources, colorful celebration, loss, decay and transformation, daylight retreating, and temperatures dropping. It is surely the time when you get to feel it all, gratitude, nostalgia, quiet contemplation, and joyful steps into the unknown.
Autumn in the Alps does not disappoint. The cows descend the mountains, ringing in this time to ready themselves for winter, the food gets richer and comforts you deeply after a day out in the fresh air, and the colors are breathtaking
Seasonal, nourishing, gourmet
It is always Alikats' intention that the food they serve should be delicious, beautiful, nourishing, appropriately indulgent, and always made from scratch using the best available ingredients. Local and seasonal produce is at the heart of every dish, for reasons of sustainability but also because it is pure joy to eat food when it is perfectly ripe and ready to eat!
They love to share the wild treasures that they gather on their walks through the woods and the fields along with produce growing in the AliKats’ kitchen garden and from the local farms and then create dishes that showcase their delicate individual flavors and also how harmoniously they can work together.
Foraged ingredients inspire many of the dishes and also go into their own homemade tisanes, botanical syrups, kombucha, and kefir. By eating what is growing on their doorstep, they are following nature's cues as to what their bodies need most at that moment.
The retreats show how beautiful food can move with he rhythms of nature
Eating in harmony with the seasons also ensures they put vegetables at the center of the menus and this is one of the most important things the can do for your own health and for the health of the planet. Every meal is full of fresh fruits, herbs and vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds, and carefully chosen minimally processed dairy products from local farms.
They are mindful to provide you with the food that will best fuel you for the day ahead. Breakfasts, lunches, and snacks are designed to be cleansing, energizing, and sustaining in equal measure whereas the gourmet 3-course dinners are created to celebrate and honor the day's discoveries, spark delight, and trigger conversation to help enhance the connection between the group.
